The Pine Hill Police Department is committed to supporting the safety, well-being, and positive development of the youth within our community. In accordance with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Juvenile Justice policies, the Department has designated its School Resource Officer (SRO) to serve as the Department’s Juvenile Liaison Officer (JLO).
As the Department’s Juvenile Liaison Officer, the School Resource Officer serves as the primary point of contact for matters involving juvenile justice, youth intervention, diversion opportunities, and community resources available to assist juveniles and their families.
The Juvenile Liaison Officer works collaboratively with local schools, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission, Family Court personnel, social service agencies, mental health providers, youth-serving organizations, and other community partners to promote positive outcomes for young people.
The JLO maintains current knowledge of juvenile justice laws, Attorney General Directives, diversion programs, and available community resources. When appropriate and consistent with applicable laws and policies, the JLO assists Department personnel in identifying alternatives to formal juvenile court involvement through diversion programs such as Stationhouse Adjustments and other community-based intervention services.
In addition to serving as a resource for law enforcement personnel, the Juvenile Liaison Officer is available to assist parents, guardians, educators, and community organizations by providing information regarding available services, prevention programs, youth resources, and juvenile justice processes.
